32 - The King of Burgers
by danielml on May 26, 2007 Today, I took Aster to Burger King for dinner. I rode through back streets and across business lawns as there are no friggin' sidewalks between our place and Burger King. Apparently pedestrians are not welcome to the businesses on or near W. Main Street. Yeesh! I again chained my bicycle and Aster's trailer to a no parking sign as it was my only option. Aster ordered a cheeseburger kid's meal and I had a grilled chicken salad that had some lame proprietary name. In the kid's meals, they are giving out spiderman 3 toys. I opened Aster's toy for him and a HUGE waft of toxic fumes eminated from it. I'm talking fumes that smelled like chlorine gas. I coughed and splutttered a couple times - then had to tell the A-Team that he could not have his toy because I believed it was coated in a toxic chemical and wasn't fit to play with. And yes, I have smelled Cl2 before, when I was young and stupid. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.... We rode home uneventfully yet painstakingly (as, again, there are NO FREAKING SIDEWALKS BETWEEN HERE AND BURGERKING AND I'LL BE DARNED IF I'M GOING TO RIDE ON DRAKE RD. OR W. MAIN DURING RUSH HOUR TOWING A KIDDIE-TRAILER!!!!) >:( |
