Cantántibus órganis
Cæcília Dómino decantabát dicens:
Fiat cor meum immaculatum
ut non confundar,
Alleluia Alleluia.
Dum aurora finem daret,
Cæcília exclamávit dicens:
Eia mílites Christi,
abícite opera tenebrárum
et (lux!) induímini arma lucis.
Peace, while the little ones sleep
the parents are counting sheep
they lose track of all the time
laden treasures sought to keep
Peace while dreams escape the mind
and worries their neighbors find
not ev'rything said is true
and it might all work out fine
Peace while the pigeons start to coo
and eyes flash between us two
and ev'ry bump, jump, or leap
of this heart is love for you.
