under the mountains
giants slumber in their beds
	 their tossing-our earthquakes
	their snores-our volcanoes
  Once upon a time, before their great sleep
 giants
 mighty men
 gods, angels, demons and heroes roamed this earth
   (now we summon them in our test sites,
    in our broadcasts
    our propaganda
    and our paranoia)

We are seeking a new set of fears
	 do you want to run?

--run away and hide from them--
--they're watching you everywhere you go--

	your life-their dreams

	(in our laboratories)

run around the issues

	your fears-their life

	(in our war cries)

drown in your fears
