Ditch the Car, Ride A Bike

This is my introductory video to bicycle commuting and its benefits. I plan to make more cycling videos about the tools and equipment you'll need to become a bicycle commuter and to possibly compare products out there. The links in the video appear when I'm citing or quoting sources in the vid. I think I misquoted the CDC, though.

These musical ideas have been swimming in my head and out of my 12-string guitar for a couple weeks. I wanted to get them out and recorded. One portion is based on Faure's "Kyrie Eleison" from his requiem.

September and October Newsletter

Dear Friends,
It has been some time since I wrote to you last. These last two months have come and gone like a whirlwind (thoughts I hear echoed among many). But, they have been productive months ... and Halloween was fun!
I have added RSS (Real Simple Syndication) to the most frequently updated parts of my site. This means if you have an RSS aggregator, you can get updates from my site without having to visit it to find them! Look for a small orange logo on various pages to subscribe to specific feeds.
Some cartoon music I did for ebolaworld can be heard with animation here:
http://www.ebolaworld.com/movies/dubya/01.html
Tom Adamson has released "Haystack Needles" as a mastered hard copy. You can order it here:
http://danielml.com/index.php?pg=music&item=mus009
The Chocolate Monkey Studios pages have new information, looks and sounds. Check 'em out here:
http://danielml.com/index.php?pg=cms

*drum roll* And finally, The Usual Things album is finished and will be released to the general public December 1st, 2006!!! You can pre-order a copy here:
http://usualthings.danielml.com It will be delivered to your door on or slightly before 12-1-2006 if you order this month!

Happy Day of the Dead! (or All Saints Day!) (or Samhain!) (or World Vegan Day!) (or Wednesday!)
daniel

July/August Newsletter

Dear Friends,
Michelle has finally finished all of her undergraduate work and we are standing on the precipice of many changes. After much deliberation, we've decided to move back to Grand Rapids. So, that'll be ... nice.
There haven't been too many project completions on my part the last two months. Multiple levels of stress have certainly been reverberating throughout our household. I have, however, started a small entertaining webcomic series titled "Pretentious Blue Lines". It's nothing serious (as I hope is obvious) and is more for fun and a way to take breaks from my more "serious" (aka strenuous) work and thoughts. Read it here: http://danielml.com/pretentious
You can look forward to new animations coming soon, more writing and music, jewelry, fun webcomics etc. etc.

Autumn is about to Fall on you!
daniel

June Newsletter

Dear Friends,
 And so ends June.
This past Sunday through Tuesday, Aster and I had an adventure together. You can read about it here:
http://danielml.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.cgi?b-BJ/m-1151549796/
Tomorrow is Michelle's commencement ceremony for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Marketing. We're all very excited. She still has a little over a month and a half to go; but, they're letting her walk tomorrow. How cool!
I worked on some music for Sam T of http://ebolaworld.com for his awards show. View it here:
http://www.ebolaworld.com/movies/weeklyupdate/45.html
I'm writing a couple of screenplays for animations in the coming months. One will be using the "Aster's World" characters and is called "Goldminer's Good Day". The other involves bunnies, the mob and a killer cat. I'm currently researching it by watching the "The Godfather" movies. :)
The album art is finished for "The Usual Things" and I am in the process of mastering all the tracks.
You can read section 11 of the Rosarium series here: http://danielml.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.cgi?b-wri/m-1151085631/

I wish you all the best this summer!
